A travel companion means someone knows your plans, can help navigate emergencies, and makes you less of a target in unfamiliar areas of Mumbai.

Go deeper

The best experiences in Mumbai (the off-menu restaurant, the dawn hike, the local's favourite spot) are found with a curious companion, not a guidebook.

Matched by style

Roammate filters by travel pace, budget range, and interests, so you connect with someone genuinely compatible, not just whoever's in the same hostel dorm.

Mumbai Etiquette

Mumbaikars are fast-moving and direct compared to other Indian cities, and they will not be offended if you are assertive. On local trains, stand clear of doors when arriving at stations (people will push past you), and give up seats for the elderly, women, and disabled passengers. Do not block the ticket queue.

Temple & Dargah Protocol

Remove shoes before entering any temple, mosque, or dargah. Women should cover their heads at mosques and dargahs, and a dupatta or scarf suffices. The Haji Ali Dargah has separate entrances for men and women inside. Siddhivinayak Temple requires queuing, so avoid peak worship times (6am and 6pm).

Full detail (itineraries, budgets, neighbourhoods and safety) is in the Mumbai travel guide.
